that includes the city's first murder of the year. 36-year-old lamont ellis was found dead in an alleyway early sunday morning. he had been shot multiple times. friends and family members gathered at a visual last night. police don't have a suspect nor a motive right now. fox 5 was working the story, conducting interviews at police headquarters, shots did ring out nearby. officers raced to that scene. it turned out to be a street fight. along west south street. >> it was a mess. it was chaos. there was at least 20 people there, and they had five or six of them, started to break out in a fight. and everybody just started to join in. >> police say one person was stabbed. and is listed in serious condition. no word if the two incidents are related. >> 10 years ago today, our region was traumatized by a sniper shooting spree. the beginning of it. for three weeks in october of 2002, people around our area did not know where the next victims would be shot. john allen muhammad and lee boyd malvo were found guilty of killing 10 people and injuring three others. on thursday there is a prayer vigil to re

in d.c., too, the fog, a big issue this morning up and down the big cities from new york city all the way down through philadelphia, baltimore and d.c. give yourself some extra time. i'm sure we're going to have airport delays as the airports get going this morning. some people are saying it's the worst fog they've seen in a long time throughout this region. it will lift by 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. so the heart of it is right now. we will see a few showers during the day but not like yesterday where it really was a rainout in a few spots. temperatures will be very warm and humid. we are going to see a chance of showers in new york city as we go through thursday and then again over the weekend. it's over the weekend that the temperatures drop on the east coast including washington, d.c., and boston with highs in the 50s and 60s. right now all that cool air is located in montana. i'm showing you this because that white on the map is snow in montana. this is the sign of things to come. the cool, cold air coming down from billings. it will arrive tomorrow. minneapolis and kansas city. so en

that close to 100 people have been arrested, seven states eight cities in connection with all different kinds of medicare fraud. the total cost to tax payers $430 million. they have caught almost 1500 people who have stolen more than $4.8 billion of your taxpayer money. there are also results of a study out today that says access to free birth control leads to fewer teen pregnancies and lower rates of abortion. they tracked 9,000 with women over the course of two years. as a result, the numbers of uning wanted teen pregnancies and terminationed dropped dramatically. this comes at the same time that the affordable care act gives free access to contraception for women. and we were talking about how conservatives are coming out with all sorts of conspiracy theories of why the unemployment rate went down. mitt romney says we didn't add as many jobs and more people dropped out of the work force. what if that is not true the number went up not down. back with more after the break. commentary. >> the idea that he could criticize the president on the down grading, when he led t

, psychologists, city attorneys and other accusers. they won. jenna: the victims certainly heard that sentiment, the judge had to hear that sentiment as well. how would that impact you if you heard that type of explanation and really no remorse? >> it won't impact me at all, and i don't think it impacted this judge. i mean essentially mr. sandusky is rearguing the case, and is suggesting while the witnesses should not have been believed. that is history. the jury has spoken. the judge has heard very competent, professional applications to set aside the verdict for the very reasons that sandusky just argued and the judge rejected those arguments. the judge is not in a position now to hear arguments that he should have been acquitted. he's only in a position to hear arguments about the harm that he's caused and the reasons he's going to be in jail. judges have a tendency of letting criminal defendants, especially ones they know are going to go to jail for a longtime say whatever they want just to get it out of their system. in this particular case what sandusky said is irrelevant, you can't argue
